Bread Pudding Recipe

Equipment

Ingredients

  • ~6 slices bread Enough for about 6 cups of bread cubes
  • 2 C milk
  • 1/4 C butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 C sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp allspice

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350
  • Chop the bread into 1" cubes
  • Place butter and milk in a saucepan over medium heat until the butter is melted. The milk should be hot, but not scalding
  • Beat the eggs to a light scramble in a large mixing bowl
  • Add the vanilla, sugar, salt, and spices to the eggs and stir to combine
  • Add the cubes of bread and stir to combine
  • Slowly stir in the butter and milk mixture until fully combined
  • Pour into a baking pan
  • Bake for 40-45 minutes, until the custard has completely set

Notes

Sprinkle lightly with additional cinnamon and serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream while the pudding is still warm for an extra special touch!
